Account Balance

For sponsored grants and contracts, the Account Balance is the remaining portion of the current expense budget. The balance is calculated by subtracting both encumbrances and expenses from the current expense budget.

The Account Balance reflects only those transactions entered into CUFS. If your department has outstanding commitments for which no transactions have been processed through CUFS, they should be taken into account when making financial decisions.
