An Area is a three-digit code, part of an account number, that identifies a particular unit or department within a college or school. The Area Name identifies a particular unit or department with a college or school.
The Area Name identifies a particular unit or department within a college or school. The area name is associated with a specfic Area number (three digit identifier). It is the "highest level of fiscal responsibility below or including the dean or equivalent." Anyone with fiscal authority above the dean level directly responsible for resource management, e.g. Chancellors, Vice Presidents, etc., will have an Area code to identify his/her offices.
