An Organization (Org) is a four-character code that identifies a specific activity of budget responsibility and accountability within an area. For sponsored accounts, the Org identifies the specific grant, contract, or cooperative agreement. (A grant, contract, or cooperative agreement may have more than one Org.)
Each org number is unique within one area. Orgs numbered 6000 to 9999 are to be used for sponsored accounts.
